The fourth edition of Danish design show northmodern will take place from 18-20 August 2016. Although a relative newcomer to the design circuit, northmodern is rapidly establishing a reputation for innovation and originality; showing the very best in Nordic and Scandinavian design alongside international brands. northmodern is a dedicated platform for professional specifiers set in a visionary landscape.
For the next edition, northmodern welcomes major names in Danish design, including Fredericia (participating for the first time), Engelbrechts, and Paustian, all of whom have embraced the northmodern concept, the fair’s vision for the future, as well as the ambitions for the Bellakvarter as a destination for design excellence.
Established in 1911, Fredericia is one of Denmark’s leading furniture manufacturer with an international reputation for design. With its outstanding roster of designers, past and present, Fredericia will be building on its Double F Hotel concept. New products will be seen for the first time at northmodern which will demonstrate the brand’s adaptability for both private and professional markets. “The Double F Hotel concept shows the versatility of our collection by mixing old and new designs in vibrant colour combinations, creating a contemporary atmosphere with an international appeal.” Kaja Møller, CEO, Fredericia
Furniture manufacturer Engelbrechts have secured a major seating contract directly as a result of participating at northmodern. “northmodern is more than a fair, its a design week – people are bored of ‘normal’ fairs, they want more, and we (Copenhagen) can offer that by adding more experiences to their travel.” – Morten Engelbrecht, Design Director, Engelbrechts
Paustian is a Danish furniture and design house with an international outlook. Since 1964 Paustian has represented some of the most celebrated and renowned furniture designs for homes and offices, and today has stores in Copenhagen, Aarhus and Shanghai in China. Paustians contract division delivers interior projects that span across the spectrum of residential, hospitality, education and commercial projects. As exclusive distributor of Vitra and Artek for the Home market in Denmark, Paustian will be presenting a dynamic selection of the two brands’ latest products, as well as novelties from the Paustian Furniture Collection.
Other notable exhibitors include heritage ceramics brand Kählers; furniture makers Wendelbo Interiors; furniture and lighting from Mater; Dutch designers Vij5 and Swedish furniture brand Lammhults. Major design distributors Roam and Hornbak & Co will exhibit a host of major international names including Resident, Stellarworks, Arper, Zeitraum, Offect and Kasthall.
